There's no need to take a risk with your 20 year old perished hose this wknd 'cos there's a couple of kind people offering you practical help in this thread. A couple of beers in return and everybody's happy!

I'm not really anticipating having to take a risk as, as I've said, I've got a local store who sell and I expect to be picking some up today and fixing tonight.
I do appreciate the offers of help and i'd have no problem saying yes please and showing beer gratitude but don't want to put anyone out if it's unnecessary.
Cheers

Thanks Tony, when I put the first post up I didn't even know there was an outdoors shop up the road - a neighbour told me - I rang them y'day and they do stock it so should be sorted if I get there before 6pm tonight.
Point taken tho and it was flippant of me to say I'd bodge it coz if I don't sort it today I will google around and see what I can source on route to Bus Stop Over tomorrow.

All sorted with grateful thanks to everyone who offered help and advice.
Well, I have the correct hose at least. I'll fit it when we get there as I've not had time this evening.
Neil, can I come and see you anyway? would be great to meet you
thanks again everyone
