GOOD NEWS! i went out and tried hands over carbs- no luck, started taking out the plugs one at a time and i did the one at the back left first and it had a good spark, my old man came out with me and notice there was a pipe disconnected, wasnt sure what it was and followed it along and it went to the over carb, they actually connect on the manifold just below the carbs, anyway connected these on and it went first time!

really weird though because i didnt disconnect them, are they some sort of breather pipe? (does anybody know?) i was thinking they may have been blown off with back presuure as the engine does back fire alittle- or is that a bit far fetched?

any way it goes but is a wee bits smokey!

thankks for all your help guys

has anybody ever said theat forums are AMAZING! :D

they would be your vaccuum hoses...controls the advance of the dizzy and other such stuff.

as you have found out - without them it don't run properly!

follow each one and make sure they have good connections - you don't want air leaks!

Do you mean the pipe that links both manifolds together and goes to the left hand carb? If so from what I can make out it controls things like idle speed and mixture. Glad you got it sorted though :ok
