I have yet to find a rust patch that doesn't get bigger the moment you touch it.

Another couple of weeks isn't going to make a huge difference.....but you don't suddenly want a hole to go away with, and IF Billy 739 is right, as soon as you hit filler with a wire bursh, you will find yourself having to put that riight too.

Go away, enjoy your hols, then do a PROPER job (that fridge is gonna have to come out you know ) when you get back.

Not the fridge, noooooooooooooo

I'm leaving on a yearlong (or longer) van-expedition, so even when I'm off I can work on the van's rust. I just wanted to have a 'little go' at that seam because the orange looked ugly rather than do much else...

The novelty is already wearing off

just t-cut with a tooth brush , this will remove the orange , rub in some wax/polish will help, but the orange is coming from inside/under the paint so it will return , but just keep doing the same

Lots of experience here telling you you really need to get in there (front and back of the panel) to make any real impact. I have to agree with that. T25 seams are hard work as its really difficult to know you've treated it properly. You can clean up the outside seam and it may last a year but will soon be back unless you attack it from both sides and given that this panel is something of a rust trap, you'd be well advised to get full access to the back and deal with it. Chances are its more widespread than you think, the floor inside the panel particularly.

Yeah, I'm hearing the experience and thanks for the truth! My current situation means that I'll have to just go for the temporary solution and when I get more settled after my move in the van, I'll look at it from the inside rather than just the external aesthetics. I don't want it getting too out of hand, after all...

Right approach.Theres some good advice in the WIKI on that area in particular and often by those with limited experience and with minimal equipment. Good luck with it.
