Don't the cross members catch & snag on rocks?
The price is very good and as you say not reliant upon the jacking points.
My concern was always that you could get the sliders jammed into the jacking points if you kinked the bar.

Very nice. Is 65 what you can make them for or what you can sell em for. If you can make em yourself then I reckon you could do simple sliders very cheaply. I'm offering bolt on goodies already made and painted black made by someone that is trying to make a living. It is cheaper for me to have someone make em for me than me spending the time to make them myself (probably poorly).

Ones that bolt on to the chassis wouldn't be much chop for me as I have a water tank on the near side that would get in the way.

They all have pro's & con's.
Just weld a length on box section between your jacking points. Allow to sit an inch below cill. Simple as, as simple does!

Pah! I've already got `rock sliders` in the form of two 45 litre lpg tanks on my bus ... one each side. Simply superb for skating on rocks n stuff.

Why can't you use the normal flat plate on the HiLift under the tube near to lacking point to jack up your van. I spoke with the blacksmith and he said the tube is 2mm and should be fine for jacking (at the jacking point not the middle of the tube) so taking up the jacking point shouldn't be an issue. I should be getting the first set back tomorrow soI will post some pictures.

because of the proximity of the jack to the side of the van, the adapter gives a decent stand off which in practice is very useful , the standard foot is quite small too and though it has a curved part which would accept the bar I'm not convinced about the stability and high lifts are unstable anyway

without a garage with a 2 post ramp I find the hilift the best way of getting the van in the air quickly and safely on my own and onto the good axle stands, so I want to be able to use it with any sill protectors just as I do now

Got mine made. Cost about £100 notes. Well made. Look great. I have jacked up the van no problems with a trolley jack and they have survived. I have a set I bought which I used as a template. Not as robust and need a paint but yours for £50 if you want them.
