When I said mine was plated I meant the old was cut out and replaces with shiney new...as in welding in a new plate

get it seam welded!

dosent look like a good weld job on that floor repair, even tho its not required to be seam welded i would have done it that way

i will have at least one possibly two cab floors already cut from clean shells at vanfest for sale , you can take a look and see what sort of job it is , but judging by the weld quality its probably not a good idea to start replacing whole panels on your van just yet!

Are you referring to my picture billy? Seems a good strong job to me (I didn't do it). Had lots of welding done by them with no troubles

hi yes, looks a bit like its randomly spotted to me!
perhaps its the picture, can you put a screwdriver inbetween the welds and push it through?
i have always seamwelded ,keeps everyone happy , and safer!
interesting to see how well its sealed from below.

That was what I thought. One of the first things I did was prod it with a screwdriver but it seems solid. underneath is the same (with a screwdriver) and nicely undersealed

now ive looked closer it does look like that,might not be mind,but looks like it......but seam sealer is great for hiding such things

The spots do look a bit random, and idealy it would have been seamed, but what we cant see from this pic guys is the weld that has been applied from under the floor, although from the pic there does not seem to to be much visable penetration from the other side, but we cant really see, seam sealant.... if it seems solid to the owner and he paid a reasonable price, fair enough. I dont think youd get that seam welded for 80 quid both sides, would take a bit of time.
