right i think that i have found a farmer to rent us some land to camp on when i spoke to him he was going to talk to one of his farmer friends and move some sheep or something

the crossing his parm with silver motivated him, i have to give him a call in the morning to get a solid answer, so all is looking good,
as for the lanes being paint friendly i do not know, i am just looking at the O/S map. when i went there on my bike they were very open but i we will find out soon.

As a plan B I'll have a word with my brother-in-law who is a farm manager near Shaftesbury.

right i spoke to the farmer (criss) today, and he said that it is not a problem he will put us in one of his medows down by the river, i asked him how much he wanted and he had no figure in mind so i offerd him £10 per van per night which he was happy with, friday camping is fine for those that want to arive early. (i plan to arive on the friday late afternoon).
now the boring stuff.
we must take away all of our rubbish (as normal) as i am responsable for this i am going to ask that we leave the site at 11am on the sunday, so i can make sure that every thing has been bagged up, as i would like to do some more laning on the sunday before i go home. Unless some one else wants to take on this responsabilty?
i have a large fire extinguishser that came from a shop that was closing down (about 2 ft tall) which i will bring with me.
he was vague about a fire, damaging the ground, so we will use jeds hanging fire basket as the camp fire. to limit any damage to the ground. any wood welcome!
BBQ are ok but dose any one have a largeish one that we could all cook on? just a thought.
Dogs are fine but on a lead at all times. as there my be some sheep about.
the farmer sceames very laid back about it and was quite keen for us to camp. lets try and keep hin sweet iam sure that we will.
and pay the farmer directly i am sure that we will all meet him at some point over the weekend. i am pritty sure that he would want cash, IOYs i dont think will cut it
he did ask about numbers that would be coming and i said about 15. how ever he is expecting a call from me next friday with a final (ish) number for him so could you all please confirm (fri & sat or just sat).
and i have only taked to him over the phone so i dont know the site at all so we will have to suck it and see. but i am sure that everything will be fine.
the address of the farm is
Manor Farm
South Newton
Sailsbury
aprox 5 miles north west of sailsbury on the A36
if some one could google earth the site and post a link on the forum this would be helpfull, as i have no idea how to do this.
many tanks neil

Hi Neil,
We will bring large barbecue/firepit (half a 40 gallon oil drum and stand) as per devon weekend and more wood also. we plan to drive up friday arriving early pm and will make ourselves known to he farmer if no one else is there.
We carry a fire extingisher and the club has a couple which I believe Clive has.
