hi
I bought a small oil radiator which runs on electric it is safe to leave on all night and it keeps the van warm.

Hi ghost123uk,

Forgot to say in my previous post that I would only want to use it when driving, to clear the windscreen and give a bit of heat, therefore the battery issue doesn't really apply.

anyone else actually used one?

yes...utter useless. the heat only gets about 2 from the heater. You will get better results by burning a £5 note...

I Agree with the general feeling that 12v heater will be no use. I have a 2kw fan blower and thats good for quick heating but would keep you awake if turning on/off over night. My overnight solution was to buy a mini oil filled radiator really small 1kw one and position it in the front of the cab this gives good background heat, no flame/co2 to worry about and it's quiet!! can be bought for around 20-50 pounds from the likes of argos.I would still like propex or similar but they are a lot of money and i'm not often away without electric hookup
