Hi All,
thought I'd post up a conclusion to this thread I started over a year ago. After going down the Alkor route I then discovered a company, also in Germany, called D C Fix
http://www.d-c-fix.de/?cls=02" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They are more user friendly than Alkor and send to individuals, not just registered companies. I found a few possible matches on their site and they happily sent me a few samples. One was a good match so I ordered. The stuff arrived pretty sharpish and was a near perfect match to my original units coverings.
If anyone is thinking of ordering contact Janette Baumann on this email address. she was very helpful and processed my order
d-c-fix-shop@sigloch.de.
Now for the photos!
How it was when I bought the van. Covered in silver hammerite on the outside of the units
half way through trying to remove hammerite. I continued to remove it all but it soon became obvious that i'd have to re cover the units!
Now covered. The fridge is still the original vinyl at the mo. Shows that it's a pretty good match.

Hi Samk,
Very nice job indeed!
What colour code did you go for (a link to it on the website would be good!).
Thanks,
James

my plan to remove the hammerite paint from my interior units is only half working! comes off some surface ok, on others it's trickier to remove and the scraping damages the wood effect plastic laminate underneath. Ideally I'd like to keep the good sections and cover the not so good with matching laminate. Now, i know it'll probably be tricky to find an exact match but worth looking. Have any of you got any suggestions where i might find the stuff? - sticky roll of wood effect plastic/laminate/vinyl to stick on. Most of my google searches find 99% websites selling laminate or vinyl flooring.
Have a look a the pics below.

thanks!

Did you ever order any vinyl? I too have a Autohomes Karisma which seems to have the same vinyl units as yours. The owners manual that came with the van lists the furniture board as Alkor PVC 882/02. I am thinking of trying to renovate my interior over winter and could be interested in ordering the board/vinyl

I got my D C Fix vinyl from an e-bay seller called vinyldepotltd. I went for a lighter style than the original colour.

Any problems with shrinkage or glue melting in the heat?

There are no signs of the vinyl shrinking or the sheets coming unstuck. The only tiny fault I would mention is that the sheet aren't very thick. I sometimes chuck a mountain bike in the van and the brake levers have scratched through in a couple of places. If you treat your van a bit more respectfully it shouldn't be a problem.
