Hi there, i have recently checked my van over and i found the consumer unit was not earthed so read a couple of campervan books from library and a couple of articles on the net and it says the consumer earth block should be earthed to the chassis, dont know if this link will work http-

An unearthed chassis presumes you are OK whilst in the van but if you happen to be out of the van and there is an earth leakage fault you wouldn't want to come into contact with it. Go with the current regs, sensible IMO and easy to do, the van chassis will then conduct to earth via the EHU assuming the lead connections are in good condition and that the sites EHU meets regulations. Autohomes are earthed to chassis as standard.
