So, why didn't you say that in the first place!
have you checked, and double checked the cam and pump timing if it has been in pieces?

Oh and have thre bucket and shims been set if the head has been off? spinning over well fast maybe down to no compression.

erm cam and pump timing! has it got a clock in it?? no not yet! i have struck a deal with a mechanic to have a look at it for me! he suggested timing too! thanks for your help! i'll let you know how i get on!!

Dave, squirt some dash dandy down the air intake it works better than easy start. it might help
