My take is that Machos are about as extreem as I'd want on tarmac, when cut in a bit they are quite OK, and off-road a fair bit better than MTs if it gets muddy or really sloshy.
I went with 205s because that's what seemed to be a good match to the Merc 6.5 15" rims, and wanted a compromise, not had the slightest sign of rubbing anything yet with them. Not into overly wide tyres, unsprng weight and manual steering and all that... really hate overtyred cars, can drift the Doka a bit on on wet roads though basic trend is to understeer at the limit, but not got into serious trouble on tarmac yet
Cheers Clive, so you use them all the time..
How have they lasted?
better than mt's on the road or a little worse?
I will prob go with a set of "road" tyres on the 14's for the distance general stuff so long road manners are not so much of a worry..
Probably worse than MTs, in fact probably a good deal worse, as I've probably done less than 1000 miles and they're down a bit, but they're now grippier than before so maybe they'll stay like this for a while - hopefully!
