I scrapped mine and simply replaced them with lightup LED twin-jet washers - way better. However, I relocated one so they sat equi-distant as they looked daft lit up off centre.

seems a bit chav like to have light up ones trying to make my van quite normal looking when it gets put back together :shock: the 307 washer jets are on fleabay for about 6-7quid which seems like an ok price but from the pics they dont look like they have any sort of rubber seal which would be a bit more forgiving on the bodywork

are there any other alternatives other than the expensive BIG washer jet ones which you can get?

Okay, I have them on order for pick up tomorrow.
Good price - 4,15 yoyos each.

I picked up these babies at 9,26 yoyos.

In front of the jets are two pads I cut out of an old pushbike innertube, on fitting it was obvious that they are not needed.

As Lee stated, the jets simply push into to the original holes without any modifications, they do need a good push and I recommend letting them stand in some hot water before hand.

This one has the rubber pad underneath, I didn't bother with the pad for the other jet it just sits like it should.

They literally swamp the screen in water, if fact they also swamp the roof (to about halfway) and the road on either side of the bus. This could be a problem (over here anyway) if you soaked a passerby when washing your windscreen.
The lower edge of the spray pattern strikes the windscreen rubber, but this is not an major issue.
You can see the water bouncing off the screen.

Watch out when removing the old ones, it's easier to remove a fiver from a Yorkshire man's wallet than it is to get these little buggers out. When you' ve go them out and disconnected the hose, DON'T! let the hose fall back inside the body! It's a whole world of pain to retrieve the hose and involves a large box of full strength prime Anglo-Saxon and a wire coat hanger. Don't go there! The skin should grow back on my hands within a fortnight.

My conclusion:
These jets are a simple fit and are better than the original widdlers and at just under 10 yoyos a bargain.
I think the performance could be bettered by reducing the flow rate through the jets so that the spray just hits the windscreen and not the roof/passersby.

I am interested to see what the spray pattern is like at speed, maybe the air flow will have an impact on the spray pattern.

On my now scrapped CF I ran 5mm silicon tubing up the inside of the wiper arms to near the pivot point and they worked a treat without a jet on the end. I might consider it on my "new" T25 if they go wrong.

they look good, only reservation i have is with the rubber, ingress of water is something i would like to avoid and inflexable plastic against body doesn't make a good seal me thinks

Nice pics and writeup! Looks like they put wash water everywhere it's needed to clean windshield... and then some. Wonder if one of those fishtank airline control clamps would work to control spray? Tried finding one on web, but no luck. :?

Was there any water left in your tank after you finished taking pics? :lol:

I was also thinking along those lines so I'm off to the Aquarium shop in town today.
I think we nearly emptied the tank during the photo session.
I'm hoping to fit the HotShot system this weekend once I work out how to power it.

Good point about water ingress, I will probably run a bead of silicon sealant under them when the weather warms up.

i used a tiny bit of windscreen sealer under mine. not the stuff that sets, the stuff that stays soft and no water ingress so far.

Hi everyone,

I have a fairly quick method of removing washer jets. All you really need is a flat blade screwdriver and a pair of pliers.

To remove the washer jets, do the following:-

- Rotate the old washer jet by approximately 45 degrees. You may have to use a padded pair of mole grips to do this.

- Now go inside the van, lie down on the floor and have a look at the scuttle panelin front of the dashboard (you don't need to remove the dash). You should be able to see the washer jets (one on each side) fairly easily.

- Use a pair of pliers to squeeze the tabs together (be careful not to scratch the paintwork) and use the flat bladed screwdriver to push the washer jet out.

- Now go to the scuttle panel outside the van and carefully lever up the washer jet and remove it.

- Repeat the process for the other washer jet.

Also the best washer jets to use are genuine VW ones. I got mine from the VW Classic Parts Center (http://www.vw-classicparts.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). You will need the VAG part number before you can order them from VW Classic Parts (I'll have a look on ETKA at some point).
