1.6td to 1Y swap

finally got it in on the road on the 2nd so shes up and running. Used baxters pump arms and as the engine had a garret turbo used a siimilar oil return set up using stuff from a local hydralic guy for the oil return from the turbo. Also used the JX inlet and exhaust system with turbo loking to aquire a aaz pump and injectors to turbo her. Whilst puttingon the accelerator cable lifted the shim for the revs from the pump but managed to put it back and adust it by ear. but not sure if the revs are set up right as will do max 6o mph maybe a little bit more down a hill, the jx did more speed wise but seems to me thet the accelareator cable almost feels like its to short as if i go up a nodge n the pump revs the engine feels like shes revving to high at idle but at the same time feel like she could rev a bit more but no more room to pull the the lever. what kind of mph are you guys getting on a 1y? but apart from that she seems ok maybe burning a bit of oil but thats it any ideas. altho I'm running a standard 1.6td box i have 15" heels so don't think its the gearing thats stopping it will post some pics soon thanks for all the help before Paul

I could be that the either the cable needs an adjustment at the pump, or the throttle [actually the governor ] lever needs to be moved a notch. If you really want to learn about how to play with your diesel to get the most out of it check out:

was just the rouring of the throttle cable and the fact i had put baxters levers on the wrong way round runnning fine now also had to adjust the revs on the pump but all hunky dory now
