In my Westy RM184 EGI manual it says that this model can work on slopes up to 15 degrees so is all this (level talk) true?

dont think wrong hand drive fridges have a flame do they?

they will work if not level, just the more unlevel, the less well they work, its nothing to do with the gas ( as they dont have gas in them, they have an amonia based liquid, unlike a domestic household type fridge) its more to do withthe flame missing the target its supposes to be heating, so the fridge man told me when i was having trobles with my dometic fridge earlier this year........

later domestic fridges dont even have a jet, just a disc in the gas pipe with a hole in it, not like the older type with a real brass jet you can change

I would test it on 240 volts first, just to check that the liquid works ok, make sure that the whole fridge gets cold not just the ice compartment, then run it on 12 volts and see if the element gets hot, if it does it should be ok.

edoh, you can get a adaptor to convert your hook up lead to fit in the 13amp household sockets from caravan shops for about a fiver, for running the van when at home........

testing a fridge on the bench however, just connect to mains as you would any appliance, with a 13mp 3 pin plug.

I've fitted my RM 122 fridge on gas and 12v. It lit a few days ago :x but I get a spark from the lighter and every so often I get a big flame when the unburnt gas ignites but no constant flame.

Check the ignition chamber isn't clogged up with a ruddy great lump of carbon - I had similar symptoms years ago; it will light eventually but will scorch your carpet until it does.
