i didn't see any other VW's there, but i was maybe at the wrong end.

No we didn't see any English VW's either whilst in the Loire (got back on 4 Aug). We stayed on a site near to Loches called Camping de la Touche. Cheap as chips, but had all the facilities and a pool. Think it cost us just over £20 a night for a family of 6 with electric. Going to definately try and go back there next year.
