Is your fridge still in the same position as it is in your gallery pictures... tucked in behind the drivers door ? You are going to have a hard time fitting it in there but I would just put the flue in the right place (above the indented panel) then get an extended flue pipe to bend round to meet it.. most of the flues on the earlier models sit on the outside of the van unlike your sketches where its inside ? So you could push the fridge into position and then fish the bendy flue pipe from the outside so its near the hole, maybe even get it slightly poking out of the hole in the bodywork, then fit it onto the short exhaust pipe from the outside and push it back in ?
Sorry if that's gobbledegook... but that's how I did it a couple of weeks ago...

To reiterate... if you have a dometic flue all of these bits go on the outside of the van ?

I think I'll have to have a 'fiddle' with it myself tomorrow - understandibly nigel won't cut the hole for the flue until he knows its in the right place, cos if its wrong my van will resemble a sieve!

there must be a way to get it to fit properly, we made the units from using an old devon interior as a template, the fridge in the donor interior was in the same position behind the drivers seat, but we couldn't get hold of a decent fridge until the units were made - therefore ours could be a few cm out here or there....

........but there MUST be a solution and i WILL get the fridge fitted!

gerty.. shep had this dilemma.. and solved it.

the best way is like 1664 says ...put the flue above the swage line.

shep used a piece of aluminium bendy pipe

cheers both,

stefvan, those pics are really helpful - might try the cutting tomorrow (eek!) and as you say, work backwords from the vent.......

Kev, I've been speaking to shepster & i've bought some of the bendy pipe that he had - but Its not quite as bendy as i thought, but I'm sure we're just missing a bit of logical problem solving.........

..............will keep trying though!

oky doke.........we (ahem, Nigel) cut the hole for the vent yesterday & I've raised the fridge on wooden blocks....

......means that I will either have to get a shallower sink or rethink the whole sink in a van thing because the fridge now hinders the plughole outlet - but I'm not that bothered about having a sink with only cold water...

will post some pics later in case anyone else has the same problem. :)

As already said, and your drawing shows this perfectly, the natural position for the flue outlet is directly on the 'indent'.

The way i did it was exactly like you but my pipe must be a little more flexible (as they say) because i managed to leave my fridge on the floor and still vent it out above the line.
