I'm not arguing, just trying to get people to check that the thing is set up right in the first place. That isn't just down to carbs, it's down to all the things I mention.
We used to have staggering results when we used Aldon Automotive, 20 years ago but time taken making sure all the other things were right kept the cost down.

7bhp more than on its first power (if you could call it that ) run.
just from slightly tweaking the timimng and progressivly drilling the jets.
although this figure went up when fitting the dual twin choke dellortos at a later date.

stock it had 29 bhp at the wheels
drilled it was 36.5 and you could feel the difference esp on hills
dellorto d 54bhp and you didnt feel hills unless very very steep!!!

Hello again! finally the bus is sussed. Turned out to be a dodgy engine, vege said "there's to much pressure in the crank". The engine started leaking oil all over the shot, including onto a fresh clutch which was ruined!! However Vege have given me a new block which is sweet and paid for a new clutch. So all's good!! :D The bus is now chugging fine and sounds soooo quiet! I also got the carbs set correctly so cheers for the advice people!!
