Shaun...a three pont on the other side can be fitted....but it has to somehow get through your cupboards to the van body work. If you can work that out, then live with it, you could have three point. I shall be going for the lap belt I think, but haven't finally decided yet. I have a very long non-inertia reel belt that coud reside in the cupbaords when not needed. Will have to get it out fo the garage and experiment I suppose!

I think most of the time it could be tucked away in the cupbaord, as a three point in the front and one in the back is enough for 90% of my transport needs with kids!

Thanks Em, thats what i thought. Think i will stick to the second belt being a lap belt though because there are possibilities of putting an LPG tank in the wardrobe in the future. Think that may be tricky with a seat belt through there aswell. Reading another thread i learn that you are fitting an Autohomes interior kit. I have and autohomes and have just reinstated the original water tank which is great but means no LPG tank under R&R bed.
Did you sort out your issues with R&R bed? Could take more pics if needed. Am doing buggerall anyway....off work with housemaids knee! (really wish that they could find a more macho name for it!!)

I'm afraid, we have two 3-point belts and a lap belt as we have a full-width rock and roll bed.

Shaun....picccies piccie picccies pleeeeeeeeeze ! The more I can get the betterer it is!!!

I have put the water tank in under the seat, and my LPG is where the wardrobe should be...and as the tank was fitted b4 the interior, it is typically 2 inches out in the wrong direction, so having to cut units about a bit. Nearly there though.

the bed is causing me grief......I can see how the first bit works. But if you could take pictures of the support and fixings for the 2 piece that would be great. Mine had 2 bolts to hold upright....pictures of how these fit would be good too!

Go get trigger happy!!

I will pm you an e-mail address to send them to. Ivybvus is sending some through too....so should be able to creat a nice resource for the wiki!

thanks Shaun,
Em

Shaun...

quick question....

does the seat back rest on the the metal work of the engine bay - your photo imange number 2044 seems to show a piece of Brwon wood(?) sticking out from the ply support. Are there two of these, and do they take the weight of the seat when its pushed back fully? If so, how far do they come off the recessed portion of the metal work...about and inch?

thanks

not sure what you mean by 'ply support' but the seat back is hinged off of a 90mm frame work. This frame work sits directly onto the steel bulkhead.
When the seat back is in the upright position it rests back against the steel brackets fixed to side of van (and against wardrobe) and sits just clear of the steel bulkhead. When the seat back is folded down into the bed position it rests on the 90mm framework.
You will also need to make up a framework (90mm) to support the back cushion to make it flush with middle cushion. This will need to be removable so the engine lid can be accessed. The autohomes conversion made this framework into a handy little drawer unit.....you should see it in the photos i mailed you.
Is very difficult to explain!
Hope it makes some kind of sense!

Shaun - you have done an absolutely brilliant job - I have the draw unit the same as yours....and now I have recovered some other bits from the garage that I didn't understand, I can press ahead and get the thing completed!

I will chuck my tape measure in my bag tomorrow and get you those measurements for the gas tank!

Thanks again for all your help,

Thanx Ermie very helpful. I was thinking that those flat plates were probably the right place, nice to get that confirmed.

Shaun could I get a copy of your pics please? (dmo1883@yahoo.co.uk)

I'm fitting full width r'n'r plus two three point belts and a lap belt in the middle.
Am going to drill the holes myself and stick the plates behind them then bolt the belts through.

Not sure what to stick em with yet, someone told me you can use nomorenails although I thought that was for wood..anyone clear that up?

Also, should I put a second nut behind the fixed-in nut to be sure to be sure?

I can mail you those pics if you like but they are totally unrelated to seat belts. I haven't got any fitted at the moment.Emma was after pictures of the set up for Autohomes R&R bed. Not sure that is any use to you??
