You know what. My van does exactly the same thing. At low speed the steering wheel tugs to the left at about the same frequency as the wheels turning. At high speeds it disapears.
I think mine is due to a bent front wheel as a guy reversed into the side of it and hit the wheel. Keep meaning to change it but you know how it is.

.....and the answer is ??
Well I called in at a Tyre place near the NEC, very helpful chap there checked all the wheels for me and reckoned that one was out of shape.
He moved it onto the back and the shake had gone, fine to go home, but I need to change it ASAP.
I am really amazed that it could have such an impact on the steering wheel...
Thanks again guys, now I need to decide if I replace the tyre or put the Audi Speedline Alloys I have in the garage on....
Really can't make up my mind.!

Its just as dangerous on the back as on the front.

Spare is worn / in the garage at the moment and have carried some tyre weld in case.
I was waiting to change tyres until I had the bits to move to alloy wheels. But to be honest I am concidering have the steels blasted, sprayed and put back on instead.
It seems so much hassel to go alloy...??
