This is one spot, but has to be exactly in the right place to clear the K14's compressor housing (and this one isn't quite, needs moving towards turbo flange slightly)

In the end I decided to fit it through the top of the JX manifold above the turbo flange, coming through about where the small 'pip' is in the casting... you need a bit of nerve when drilling the first pilot hole, and often need to counterbore the face a bit too, so boss will sit flat.

... works Ok so far and gives good high true readings I think, being in the gas from all 4 pots..

Andy Simpson tapped straight into the turbo flange itself I think, and used a digital gauge

I use a 1000C Analogue gauge and K type thermocouple made by Westach in the US (aircraft stuff), supplied by Peter at Airworld UK in Bucks. Aircraft stuff isn't aways expensive BTW, as they aren't raping the custom and tuning aftermarket

Digital gauges are available...

Speaking of temps. What I'm interested in getting is an In/Out temp sensor on the Chargecooler as well as EGT. Something like:

That way I can actually see the effectiveness of the cooling... Or maybe I just like guages.

Funny you should say that Jake...

I'll PM you about what I'm testing on that score... Dual crossed gauge 50C to 375C in the right order of temps do you think?

Sounds similar to what I was looking at which was 50-325...
