Why's it dripping in your van ???? I all ways thought the pole goes on top of the gutter and that way the clamps grip it much better!

"J" strip plus figure of 8 works a treat - 5 lenghths of figure eight fits nicely in the awning bag too!

My wife always seems to disappear when the awning needs putting up- then arrives back when its all finished usually without cold beer!

I have a twin slider & had trouble with both of mine tearing away at the gutter seals. I put the f/8 in the vice and ran a 3" mini grinder right up thru the channel thus taking a couple mm off ech face, champhered the ends for easy slide on. Now no more sweating & cursing to get them on. To take them off without tearing trim on gutter, just lift one corner of f8 and run a spoon handle or similar along between gutter & f8, walla off she pops & no bits & pieces of sealant from the gutter.

To take the slack outta the bit o canvas that flops around I cut a coupla pieces of swish curtain track approx 24" long and bend em in an arc and they stay nicely between the gutter & the pole on the awning, thus keeping the canvas in a tunnel shape & rain water stays away.

Dontcha jus luv it...luv it ...luv it even when it bites yer on the bum...

Totally lost here, some good sharp close-up pics would be a great help from someone, unless they can point to same in Wiki? If not sounds like they are needed anyway, to build an article on Figure of 8's, J strips and pole and clamps....

that's a bay gutter isn't it? Early t25 gutters are similar if not the same to bays whereas late gutters need a trim to aid the fitting of figure of 8.

Or am I wrong?

Not having bought an awning yet isn't the problem with the figure of 8 that it won't seal onto pop-tops due to the sealant in the gutter :?:
