We use a great one in Newquay, right next to the "No camping, No Sleeping and NO Cooking" sign over looking "the big beach"!

has anyone asked you to move off at any time,

I'd imagine a parking type troll, they appear to relish this bit of weight to chuck a round.

My experience of anywhere touristy' is a shortage of free parking anywhere choice
as they seem to be on a mission to stripe everything Yellow

As a former truck driver,
Spent many evenings on impromptu nights out
away from truck stops
(which are a bit grim)

at least a vans a bit more park-able size wise

BTW
On a side subject,
I plugged mains hook-up into wall socket via adaptor
and got the lights working etc
although there was no sign of any battery charging at the LB

Thought that might be asking a bit much actually
although I bought a small charger when I replaced the batteries,

So I thought I (could) charge them in the tradiotnal way
at least in the day time on a camp site,
not sure about using a charger ovrnight in the same place I'm sleeping
