Re: Rocker cover gasket replacement.
Third time lucky i hope, took cover off again today, this time I coated the gasket with Hylomar blue I had at hand. Put a liberal ammount on both sides and on the inner and outer parts of the gasket. Will need to give it a good run and monitor over the next few days to see if it worked.

Well that didn't work either, leak still persists albeit minimal. I may have to use silicone ones as mentioned by Rob as the cork ones leak in the same area, this maybe because where the oil settles when egine is off (front bottom corner).

Maybe the cover is the problem....

Re: Rocker cover gasket replacement.
Just looked at Empi Neoprene ones on just kampers site.
To me, it looks like they fit t2 and t3 - but I could be misreading it?
Have you looked at them?

Yes, it definitely says suitable for 1.9 /2.1 waterboxer but I have not used them so cannot guarantee anything.

Re: Rocker cover gasket replacement.
Thanks again, they are on back order with JK att so will do some more research but the replacement cork ones are failing so need a solution. This must be a common problem so a solution is out there somewhere.

Re: Rocker cover gasket replacement.
Sttill sticking to the cork gasket att as got a spare, this time lightly coated it with vaseline as recommended by the bloke from Chop Shop, did notice this time that after fitting it and clipping it into place I managed to move the rocker cover a fraction, which made me think that previous fittings were not seated properly so will monitor. On a linked issue there is oil visible where the oil filter mates to the engine, and a small drop appearing, wondering if either undertightened or overtightened..
