1.6td won't start after cam belt change

Did you remove the Diesel feed and return pipes? are the pipes clear plastic?
When you did the pump timing did you have the cold start lever in the off position ( pushed home)
Check that the fuel filter is full.
Go through the pump timing again ( check that the pip on the pump sprocket is pointing to the pip on the backing plate at 11o clock)
Rig up a separate supply of Diesel to feed the pump.

Looking back - it ran badly until the cam was altered after the belt change, something basic has been c**cked up there onwards. My money is that it was OK but one tooth out at that point and everything else that has been done since has made it worse.

Hi I changed the timing belt on my JX and it would just about start but that was it found that there are 2 positions that the pump locking pin will fit! and guess what it was the other one !! I have now marked the correct one for next time as the pump was 180 degrees out with cam and flywheel .
