Over the years they sludge up and loose efficiency, if you don't know it's history it could be over 30 years old with mixtures of God knows what having flowed through it . Brickwerks do them for about £ 160 but they can be found a bit cheaper if you shop around.

I did think about that.

£160 is a bit steep, will wait for the cheaper one to come back in stock. £110 from JK but that looks dodge

Very Spooky, just about to post the same, with questions.....
If i get this radiator will it match up to the current brackets?
Are dimensions ok 560x430x42?
From my investigations Hella is a pretty reliable make and at £38.86 with discount seems a pretty good deal.

The better rad will have better fins and cooling properties as more aluminium (as to plastic) meaning better cooling. If light is on prob have air lock in rad. Then bleed it. And keep topped up until leak is found or just grit and bear it! New rad may help and easy enough to do (with small hands). Change sensors and rad if worried will only help if old. But do check earths above fuses and relay for firing up. I.e. Not turning on or off!! Easy to do. I've changed it all only to find out slight leak (who hasn't) and bad earth/contacts. Good luck

I bought that one. Its the same as the Brickwerks one. I checked it there and then before I left. They can do it at that price because they're buying much bigger quantities. However, when they run out it could be 3-4 years before they buy anymore. :rofl

Very handy, best be ordering one then.(C'mon crazyhorse, get on it)
Looking to flush out old coolant and change some of the pipes that look a bit ropey. Everything ordered and delivered form Brickwerks. Seems right to have a go at changing the radiator while everything is drained. Any pointers, bearing in mind this is a first for me Covkid, that I should be aware of before I start e.g. radiator fits to existing brackets, pipework fits etc?

Not fitted mine yet but took a lesson from one of our American friends and painted the sides carefully to mitigate future external corrosion, then gave the fins a light misting of high temperature paint. Existing rad doesn't leak but getting on in years so likely less efficient now,. Its one of those jobs that sits further down the list but I waited almost 3 years for the next batch to come in at ECP, then snapped one up. I got the usual "oh it'll be second-rate" etc but nope, a quality rad as sold elsewhere. I could have sold it several times over.....

Ordered this afternoon but the price had gone up to £48 with the sale discount. Still loads cheaper than BW, and I'm going down to Inversneckie on Saturday anyway, so no delivery charges. I do wonder now if their system remembered that I had looked at it last night?

Agree on treating the rad. Does last longer.

Not doing it yet though, going to get new front hoses, and maybe gear selector blocks to do while I'm under, etc etc
