Until I broke a valve spring my rebuilt DJ was really going quite well, It feels about 10-15 percent better than the DG 1.9 previously. On petrol it flies but the timing needs retarding even on super unleaded. Mine was pinking at 8 degrees and 5 was OK on petrol. On gas I was running at 10 degrees and it is noticably slower than on petrol. I reckon the MV pistons would still provide a decent boost with a 76mm crank and would run on petrol without the timing retard.
Unfortunately mine won't run at present!!!
