Re: turbo on 1y engine
It's alive
thanks for all your help MGP just one more thing to sort out for some reason the heater plugs are not working no light on dash nothing I had to put a live feed to them to get it to start. They was working fine before I changed the engine because I had to replace the relay to get them to work .Do I have to change anything on the heater plug side because I have gone from 1.6 to 1.9

Re: turbo on 1y engine
Nothing to change that I can think of.
Have you checked the 50a strip fuse inside the black box in the engine bay?
Are you sure that you have the temp sensor wires for the glow plug relay connected to the correct sensor, if the glow plug relay sees a hot signal it won't power them up.

Re: turbo on 1y engine
Hi yes the 50amp fuse is ok,tried another relay all the wires look like they are in the right place because of the length of the wires ,I no the heater plug wire is right because it's a round like washer connecter,I'm not 100% sure I have put the right sensor on the back of the head and the one on top of the oil cooler housing,I think the one on the back of the head is the ignition oil light on dash because when disconnected oil light goes out but not sure what the one on the oil cooler housing is for.but since your last reply the ignition has failed I have to join the wires together to start it now.waiting on little plastic block on back of ignition.

Re: turbo on 1y engine
Ive come to a stop on this now it's doing my head in.I have put the new ignition on and engine will start after turning over for a few minutes but still no heater plug light on or temp gauge working but not sure if the temp was working before but I do no the heater plug light was,do I have to change any of the wires to the sensors I have three sensors on mine two on the water pipe behind the diesel pump and one on the back of the cilinder head that's not including the oil sensor

Re: turbo on 1y engine
To start with disconnect all the sensors on the engine and switch the ignition on that should force the glow plug relay to switch on for the maximum time.
All you have done is change the engine those sensors are the only thing that I can think you would have touched
