Oooohhh!! The landrover mirrors arrived and so did the brackets to fit them...exciting!

That's what I miss about my old series III Landrover. The spares are incredibly cheap. The engineering was so low tech, that tooling costs were probably virtually nil per item.
e.g. indicator light complete assembly was less than a fiver including delivery. Similar price for the wing mirror head.

Very tempted by this solution - one question - how easy are the Landy mirrors to fold in when parked up? Quite often park up in narrow streets and it would be a bonus if you can fold these in easily?

very easy to fold in! the arms have notches in them so you can pull in and push back out to the same location without having to faff about altering the mirror position.

i originally tried these as i couldnt break them on my defender 90 and i got into some awkward places off-roading that thing!

Thanks ! I have some of your brackets - and have just got the Landy mirrors from paddocks, but the arms seem to locked solid; I managed to move them back once but its very tough - should I adjust the spring tensioner to allow me to move the arm back as you suggest, or will it be easier once they are in situ?

I've just fitted my passenger side mirror and I love it, although I can't quite get it to sit flush with the brackets. There is a small piece of rubber stuck onto the metal work on the van from the other mirrors...should I be taking that off?
Also, Im not sure how to adjust the actual arm so it folds in more...or are they just super stiff?

there is an allen screw at the bottom of the mirror loosen it slightly adjust to where you want it tighten it up and your set,they are a massive improvement over the standard ones

Thanks - But Im slightly confused as Rowley said that you can fold the arms in? Is that not possible with these ones?

If they are proper Landrover ones yes you can fold them back, but they are hard to fold.

They look the part.
They are very stiff to move back and they click into different positions.

I used an allen key in the hole just under the mirror and it loosened the actual mirror head but not the arm.
Maybe I just wasn't forceful enough when I tried pulling the arm in. Ill try again in the morning. Thanks all

I must admit the first time I moved them I was surprised hew stiff they were.

yes they are very stiff! they move with a clunk! both hands from the outside to move and use just one when your sat inside

you can pinch up the allen bolt under the lense once your happy with the position...

and i left the rubber pad on from the transporter mirror base as theres a hole for the door skin under there!

UPDATE: I LOVE these wing mirrors!! The best 50 pounds or so I've spent!! I can actually see around the sides of the van with hardly any, if any, blind spots PLUS they don't move an inch when I drive over 30mph!!!
