I wonder if the two horns take any more power than one one we have

FWIW T3 factory fitment of two-tone horns (as on the Carat) includes the horn relay in the normal position on the CE1 relay plate. This is quite an easy change to make, the trickiest bit is obtaining the correct 'L' plug, the best source I've found is old Golf dash harnesses. The best source for horns is your local scrapper, Golfs, Passats etc all are suitable.

I have taken a punt on these it's a pair of one high and one low horn cheap enough

says less than 4A each so should work OK in parallel on the standard circuit, afaik vans up to 88 had spade tags on the horn ( mine has) so easy fit.

I found anything above the stock 'beetle' horn needs a relay. My oohgaa one does for starters.

For the electrotechnically challenged, could you please clarify the "what and where" with a pic or two Andy?

PS I fitted these horns to the SA which has a later CE2 relayboard, horn relay as standard I think.
I would like to sort the other buses in due course.

Two horns definitely justify using a relay IMO, and I would recommend at least a 1mm wire per horn, preferably 1.5mm. If their decent loud horns that is, not some feeble chinese "pooh".

Just for the record like..

You may be right, sometimes I wonder if the Chinese think the laws of physics don't apply to the stuff they churn out

They make most of the tol name brand stuff 'we' now buy from computers to dildos
quality has improved no end imo, low cost copies of western designed parts they can do, 7 quid for two horns sounds way too cheap but if you can buy a usb endoscope for 7 quid then maybe not.

find out later

Putting aside the "dobber" reference for a moment...
Why not just buy an OEM pair from a scrappy? They rarely go wrong.
