sorry I missed that post last night
yeh got a pic but you have to split the carb to see it, buried deep, whatever were they thinking of making it from plastic.

from memory
choke flap off ( screws are peened so very hard to get out)
take cap off shaft aperture then tap out shaft, see second pic. (large hole in plastic bit)
split carb and it unhooks from choke linkage (small hole in plastic bit)
what we ned so somebody with a new cnc 5 axis milling machine to start making them

Ah, ok, definitely not the bit I was looking at (which on a second look is related to the secondary throttle diaphragm (part number 25 in the exploded diagram).
But the part you describe is still there in one piece in my donor carb. I'm not sure I want to remove it though, firstly because I'm sure to damage something (just how do you remove those peened screws?), and secondly because it will make a perfectly good top plate unusable.
I note though that the offending part seems to be present and correct in this cheap ebay item. It's the top plate from a Golf carb, and the code number in the first photo (027 129 015) identifies it as a 2E2 rather than a 2E3, but the casting looks almost the same and I'd guess that plastic part is the same - it's drawn the same way for both types of carb in my Haynes book of carbs.

Gamble, may not be the same.
I'd ask Bromyard if they can get them, they must have to replace them when they do carb refurbs.
I wonder if anybody has access to rapid prototyping stereolithography and can make them.

I'd rather not peen the screws either, but I have a spare top
I will check the assembly is complete, and I can offer it as a complete assembly as this would be easier to refit.

Screws were tight, very tight, a good quality screwdriver bit in a good quality handle or electric speed control electric drill will get the out, when they are out you can see they were thumped with a tool on the thread end to deform the thread ( what I call peened) a triangular mark iirc, but it was years ago.
They go back too so don't let that put you off, I added threadlock to be safe.

I think the part number might be 4.07301.13

I've copied Bigherb's reply over to this thread, since 3D printing this part seems more relevant to this thread than to Ian's factory upgrades.
I have colleagues at work who have a rapid prototyping system so I'll speak to them about using it for a small run of these parts. I'll find out what form the computer model needs to be in. I'm guessing it's Autocad, in which case I can draw up the 3D model. Although I do have one of these parts to work from, it's buried in my carb top plate, so Itchy, if you feel like sketching up the important dimensions from the part you've got (have you still got it to hand?) then that would help the modelling.

don't have it to hand but for wbx lovers I would be prepared to strip my spare and get it modelled in CAD if somebody can get them made. Would need to be nylon, preferably glass filled, which is SLS process I'm told by the draftee sitting next to me.
Bricwerks may be prepared to stock them if you can get a batch, Simon replied on thus thread.

OK, I'll make enquiries about what materials are available. If your part is no longer to hand, I'll probably take mine apart as it'll be easier to work from the actual piece than from a sketch.
