Have you checked the SWR on the aerial recently?
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here

Well if this is a new installation, you really should check it.
At least check the aerial mount is correctly earthed to the bodywork . Use your multimeter set to it's lowest amps rating but unplug the aerial plug from the CB before doing the test. As close to zero ohms is what you're looking for as in like a dead short). Unless its a mag mount, in which case ignore the above

That should be OK then, and those "springer" aerials are pretty well pre-SWR'd and are a good aerial as well.
