Only that intermittent will turn into permanent eventually

Hi did this ever get resolved?
I have the same issue, its driving me mad, its nothing to do with choke or carb settings.
Its giving max vac to dizzy advance unit all the time, and shouldnt, i have replaced carb gaskets to eradicate and vac leaks, thinking it could be part of my issue. but no difference, tried swapping vav pipes and ports around,
I have looked inside the carb at the vac port, and its below the throttle plate, weirdly, so would give constant vac, it just doesnt make any sense at all?
Is there something missing from vac system that reduces vac until hight rpms are achieved??
