I'll be fitting mine tomorrow night so I'll post up how I get on.

Well that was fairly easy.
The first question was which end was which. I copied the way the broken was fitted which was with the extra stop at the pedal end.

I took out the driver's indicator lamp (two screws) as suggested in an earlier post. With the lamp out of the way you can get an 8mm ratchet ring spanner on the lock nut. I used a short piece of metal pipe slipped over the solid end of the cable to stop it rotating. Sitting facing the van with my legs under it, I could turn the spanner with my left hand through the indicator hole and right hand holding the metal pipe from up under the bumper.

Next I undid the small allen screw on the carb link bar and pulled the broken rear half out through the engine bay.

With the lock bolt undone I pulled the broken section out through the indicator hole and rubber grommet came out with it. I pushed the grommet onto the new cable until it located on the extra cable stop. The new cable threaded through from the pedal end really easily. The conduit on my van has a break just in front of the chassis spar in front of the rear wheels. I separated the conduit at this point and carried on pushing the new cable through until it came out through this break.

Once I had a couple of feet of cable at this point I tried to feed it back into the other "half" of the conduit. At first only a foot or so would push through before coming to a stop???? I quick check with a torch showed the conduit had a slight kink that was enough to stop the fat cable end going any further. I pulled the conduit away from the location point on the bulkhead and this was enough to straighten the conduit and free the end of the cable. Once through I could put the cable end and the conduit back through the bulkhead.

To set the cable length correctly I wedged the accelerator pedal down to the floor, and used a cable tie to hold the throttle linkage fully forward against the body of one of the carbs. With both linkages locked in position I nipped up the bolt at the pedal end and allen screw on the carb linkage. Once the cable was secured I got an assistant to press the pedal so I could check the throttle flap opened & closed. Everything looked good so I re-fitted the indicator.

I'll go for a proper test run tomorrow but it all looks good.
