Also in need of a new system for a late DG, I did some research and its also worth noting that the SpeedShop and JK exhausts are not fully stainless. The mounting flanges are mild steel. Im sure people fit exhausts for different reasons, as made clear by this thread, but for me having stainless mating surfaces is probably more important. I believe the Brickwerks and JP systems are full stainless with corrosion resistant fittings and fixings, but obviously more money.

They do! The VW Speedshop exhaust fits just like an early silencer, so if your manifold pipes are in good order you can just buy the header and silencer parts to replace your knackered early silencer. Alternatively they do a full sized early type stainless silencer, which is listed as "big bore" for type4 bay engine, but they use same silencer as early wbx anyway, so this fits.http://www.vwspeedshop.com/product.php? ... 372&page=1Image
Have fitted both, a joy to fit and customers have been very happy.

My early DG full stainless system from VW Speedshop has now been on the van for 4 years. No issues at all but as I've said on previous threads re the whole DG early/late exhaust choices, don't just bung a system on a badly tuned engine with worn out engine mountings, you will be asking for trouble in the long run.
The VW Speedshop also has a 'lifetime of the vehicle' guarantee, rather than a guarantee which expires if you sell the van on :ok
