Re: syncropendance
facilities.
Grass for camping on
River for paddling in
Mountain behind for a good view and off road driving
Cow pats for the dogs to roll in
errr think that covers it?
Walk to events...well from what I remember yes you could. There are two routes up....one scrabble up that the syncros do when its dry, and one a more gentle track that is a safer way up and down when its wet. Thing is, the site is huge....so would be hard work to follow the driving once up the mountain. Have a look at some of the pictures from last year!
Ford was fairly shallow last year - we were driving up and down the river! But could get deeper with rainfall.

Re: syncropendance
oh - Syncro is up for MOT 24 June. Will be whacking it in a bit early, but not booking until I have that "pass" in my hand...so it could be a last minute thing

Re: syncropendance
Mate you'll get lifts around the site I'm sure. I'm told there's a campsite on the other side of the river for the non 4WD vans. What's going on with yours anyway?

Re: syncropendance
gravity will get you into the field and i will pull you out, the stream you have to cross is really not too much of an obstacle and if you dont have the clearance then im sure we have enough waffle boards to build you a little bridgeJim San wrote:If I came it'd have to be in the T5 as its looking more and more likely my Syncro will still be plateless
I really want to start coming to events and this is about as near as it gets.
Is that F0RD do-able in a std height T5?
Are dogs allowed?
It mentions people will be ferried to and fro off road events - how far is it? we'd not expect dogs to be ferried so would walk?
What facilities are on site?

Re: syncropendance
Indeed - get yourself along!!
I wasn't trying to put you off....just being honest about the site.
Can't offer you lifts myself as likely to have the two jacks and husband in the single cab....but there are plenty with crew cabs and busses.....
I was just trying to say that walking around the site would be somewhat draining...and you said that your dogs prohibited lifts.

Cheers Em, no worries, I was'nt put off by the walking, dogs and wife would love it - however i'm sure i'll regret saying that.
I was just surprised there was no hotel to stay in , no seriously, i'm not currently geared up to camp in the van, long story but with syncro camper due to be ready 6 weeks ago I got ahead of myself and sold a bunch of our 'redundant' gear - currently trying to reverse that.
all said though, i think it would have to be the campsite nearbye as taking my T5 into certain stuckness wouldnt do my image any good

Cain Valley Hotel in Llanfyllin is only 1 mile from the site, pretty reasonable and there are B and B's around, postcode search near SY22 5DD

Re: syncropendance
Room for 2 in my van and it's dog friendly
I think it's a good idea to experience an event without a Syncro to start with so you know what to expect !!!

The field the other side of the river is quite accessible as you can see from the picture below:
You just need to be prepared to wade the river for the social side of things.

Re: syncropendance
Cheers guys, i will be along all being well, even if its just day trips. If I manage to get a new awning we will probably even camp. We have two dogs who probably wont be welcome again
I'm really looking forward to meeting a few more people and seeing the vans in their element. And I take on board what you say Syncrobaz, sampling the scene before i get mine on the road
