Oh trust me I have. But trying to get the last remaining bits off is a nightmare.

Main causes:

Undervoltage.
Glow plug defunct.
Overheat switches open circuit.
Blocked inlet/outlet ducts.
Poor solder connections/spade terminal connections on pcb in heater.

In that order.

Another simple thing to check first is that all the connections are properly plugged in particularly at the control unit.

As discussed - I am mid way (2 years so far !) rebuilding mine because the fan was a little noisy. As I made a bit of a mess of taking the fan unit apart , I then got hold of 6 of the things for spares- If anyone needs bits give me a shout. I have 4 diesel and 2 petrol heaters with associated controllers , timers ,wiring etc. No pumps.

Hi Dan, Yes that was me - I got three massive boxes full of it . Just trying to pass them on to everyone now and make a bit at the same time. Good source of spares though

I see in this thread that there is a couple of requests for fan motors. Does anybody have a working one i can but, or alternatively source a new one that will do the job?

Cool. Just PMed him. Also, are there any guides out there for stripping down the and de coking the inside of the blower? My fan was stuck but I have managed to free it off. i was just wondering if it would be wise to try and strip it further and try and replace the bearings at the same time. :?
