Thanks...but Titus why do I need to attack the dkave cylinder. ...I don't have to touch that do I? That is clutch is it not? Or am I confuddled?? X

I would be prepared for new shoes also - it doesn't take much of a leak to contaminate the linings. I know having had it earlier this year on my Merc.

Oi tink Titus has mistyped slave when he meant wheel cylinder. ( at least he didn't spell it dkave ) Although I suppose technically wheel cylinders could be described as slave cylinders to the brake master cylinder.

Best to use some sort of pipe clamp on the flexible hose going to that wheel cylinder in order to stop fluid drain on the whole line. If the brake shoes have been completely bathed in fluid for several days it is likely that they will need changing 'both sides' as the friction lining will have soaked up the fluid.
