I'm running twin webers on my dj with pancake filters. I bought the van like this so I can't really comment if there are any power gains / losses over the injection as I have never driven one. All I can say is that it pulls really well and cruises effortlessly at 65 / 70 mph. Fuel wise, I'd say roughly 23 - 25 mpg.

using bp super I get a couple or three more mpg, ive got bigger wheels and cruising speed is higher, but don't say owt as this will create all sorts of shenanigans. are the manifolds webber or taken from another vehicle? how close to the hatch are the air filters?
cheeky.........but any chance of a pic.

I'm getting that mileage using super unleaded. I don't know where the manifolds came from but it was a 1.9DG to 2.1DJ conversion by Laurie Pettitt. The carbs seem to have quite a low profile so the filters sit nicely under the hatch. I will get a photo up in the morning.

I'd check your engine bar isn't space downwards by 3/4" using an assortment of manky old washers if I were you ... a friend's van was.

Take the fuel and inlet system off a WBXer and you cannot tell by looking whether it's a 1.9 or a 2.1, just as if you take the exhaust and cooling system off the early and late engines are identical to look at.
