Looking at the Haynes, it seems to be the indicator relay.

Is that correct? Box the clicks loudly when indicator is on??

Mine is clear, however I can only find black ones on the web.

Just want to get the right thing.

You should post up a picture of your relays, over the years there could have been additions to your setup by previous owners.
I used to have only two relays until I added the intermittent relay mod that I found about on here.

The Brickyard has a page listing the part numbers for the various relays HERE

I would guess yours is an early ceramic fused van.

Here is a photo of my relay board before any modifications by me.

Yup.

One on the far left.

Played up again today. I'm a 15 min drive from VW Heritage so may call them tomorrow.

Fuses are all the old school type, not two pin plug type.

Will post a pic.
