Re: Busfest 2013 - SYNCRO TRAIL
Probably going up for Saturday only, I might just try and swing a vehicle pass to get on the course...worth a phone call.
E D I T: Got to get up very early and get to the yellow gate for 8am and pay
for a day vehicle pass. Then join the syncro display for the day and generally have fun on the courses

From what I gather, you now simply pay per head for entry - £15 for the day - and they issue the vehicle with a day pass i.e no sneaking into any camping areas, display only and leave sometime after the day punters.
You should have a proper early start then Jes. I'll have to be on the road at 0600...

Re: Busfest 2013 - SYNCRO TRAIL
Here's the thing though:
No concessions for exhibitors once again. Why would anyone want to drive however many miles and burn £££ of fuel to show their wagon, when the only people gaining benefit are Busfest? They are the ones who need exhibitors to draw the crowds and avoid criticism of putting on a dull, unimaginative show. The static hall displays were p1$$ poor in 2011 and that was under the Vanfest banner.
If they want an impressive syncro display (and we could give them just that, along with a spirited driving display for the audience) the all-new VF really needs to give a bit of ground.
Free entry for the driver & vehicle (for example) isn't going to scratch the Busfest profits, but at least it would go some way towards showing a bit of appreciation.
As much as I'd like to drag Atlantis up there and rag it over the "syncro trail", I've made other travel arrangements.
PS I'm sure that this has all been said before about the Busfest machine, but nothing's changed, has it?

Re: Busfest 2013 - SYNCRO TRAIL
I have a feeling that the syncronauts committee may have discussed this behind the scenes, following the VF 2012 hoo-haa. Note the comments about club involvement, halfway down, before the syncro bit:

Re: Busfest 2013 - SYNCRO TRAIL
I'm sure Mike will get you in if you want to go Dai
I'm with Ian re the cost of going and being part of the attraction especially when they give tickets to people like Busman and other european vistors in order to be the 'biggest Busfest in europe'
as a club we've not been involved, we invited Simon to be on our committee years ago and work up some syncronicity (ditto the Syncro25 event) but they were too busy pursuing profits and being a music festival and getting ripped off and then trying to recover it
the only way we'll get invited to particpate is not to go at all, if there's no syncros there then they'll come knocking at our door - this goes back 10 years to the first Club80-90 Syncro display in the main hall and nothing has changed
Symcro want to comment publically ?

Re: Busfest 2013 - SYNCRO TRAIL
In other words: until the likes of a significant group - like syncro owners - boycott this bloated old whore of an event, nothing will change.
Having said that, you have to see it to believe it! I hope to have the Bullet all modded and ready for 2014 and it'll be worth seeing, but not on pay-to-show terms

Re: Busfest 2013 - SYNCRO TRAIL
I'll be going as a day visitor, putting the Syncro in the carpark and not being part of the display. More loss to BF. Involvement in the display appears to be on the basis of who you know, not what can you offer. A shameful, cliquey way of organising things in my opinion.
