Hi micky! what i hadn't mention was i used to compete in competitions and have had many cars previously fully restored and featured in magazines...
not one to do things in halves!
So i got the body shop to pick at everything!!!........ and it was as solid as a rock!! dabs of filler and poor repairs seem to have sealed against the weather and preserved shiny metal!! so impressed.. i decided to spend the money on a full restoration with a high flake pearl flip color with my logo branded across the side!!
pictures above are from the first bit of primer going on before paint!

i even took a video of the full van most back to shinny metal!

So 4 weeks in the body shop... im a bit of a perfectionist and a little anal.. :/ as i couldn't decide what bloody color the paint her!! while waiting i was late night bidding on eBay ( actually looking at cars for color ideas ) i managed to purchase an RX8 that i have previously already blown up 2 of.. :/ but now i have 2 cars fully broken worth of parts, so i ended up driving it got the bug again and decided to buy 3 matching rx8's and it sticker them up and use them as my promotional vehicles!!

So i was left with the dilemma of all ready having paid for the van to be paint... with a very eager painter wanting to know what color so he can start painting her!
i then thought if i was going to move her on i wouldn't commit to having the van painted in the what i imagine would give most true T25 enthusiasts a heart attack! so having little knowledge i started asking local enthusiasts if they had the chance what color would they go?? even resorting to ringing up specialists to ask there opinions! so far the decision was defo going towards the half and half look committing to a very similar color as the original on the top half!

Many conversations later i phoned an extremely helpful individual call Andrew @ Campershack! we had a long conversation and went through a few different options and he was so helpful i decided on a color he choose.... keeping in with the original vw look but combining with a modern twist.. a Color from the current 2013 T5... he was quite excited to see the outcome.. hope your reading this as the pictures are below!
