Not tried the awnings yet but used a Vango airbeam 300 tent for a couple years before I got the 'van...excellent bit if kit. And it held its value very well when I came to sell on eBay.

What is it like in the wind?

The pegging down is the time waster in my experience. My rigid frame awning takes longer to put up than a khyam but once you factor in all the pegging there's not much in it between the two.

Had a night of strongish winds off the sea last week in Jersey, stood firm & hardly moved!
Like you say pegging & guy lines take the time, but with this, at least I can leave the pregnant wife to relax & the 4 yr old to run around like a lunatic, whilst I put the awning up on my own!!

Well picked up the smaller one (Kela) at DubDayz. Didn't really mean to buy one yet but got a lot more trips planned with me and the (young) kids so rapid one-person pitching is a bonus. I'll be using it next weekend so will report back (and my big tunnel drive-away will doubtless be up for sale soon if it goes well!)

How are you getting on with the Kela?
