No, they got it right, that's exactly the battery I have fitted! (E D I T, well not exactly as mine is called enduroline, same colour sticker and everything )

My apologies..but you can see the sizes on the ebay item for the same battery are different to those posted.

As I said...it would be absolutely brilliant if we can find a battery with a capacity this high to fit in a standard T3 battery box....
I've just left a message on the Tanya website enquiring after the low profile version of this battery...it certainly says a 175mm height variant is available but I want to be sure that doesn't effect the width or length.

I will post back as soon as they reply. (100ah leisure at just under £100 that fits in the box, lid shut, that would be good).

PS: However, it does beg a question: how a small unknown manufacturer 'Enduroline' can product a battery with 100 amp hour capacity in a case no bigger than the average 70 amp hour battery. Why much bigger manufacturers like Bosch/Exide/Varta/Lucas seemingly are unable to do the same....strange. Yes I am slightly sceptical but lets see what they say.

Well this is what I got....as said a 100ah leisure battery with 4 years warranty that DOES fit into a VW battery box (Tanya confirmed the size) but please don't blame me if it's wrong.

Here is their reply.

Please send us your address details and we will set up the order for the 175mm high version. The price is the same and they are in stock.
The capacity is still 100Ah even though the height is lower, The plates inside are exactly the same there is basically a little extra plastic on the 190mm version to give it the extra height.

So that makes the overall Dimensions for the lower battery (make sure you state 175mm high model) as 278L x 175W x 175H which means an easy fit into a VW battery box 'LID SHUT' I can't quite believe it myself but there it is.

i ended up removing the lid on my van and got a bit of hard board to cover the carpet from touching the battery you may ask why its just to save the carpet from getting messed up

Well went taynar batteries yesterday and picked the battery up. Fitted it today and as bootie3367 showed it is a perfect fit no problems.



I put a strip of wood over the battery just to show it is just below the top of the battery box. Whether it is actually 100ah I don't know, but there is no real reason to doubt it; it was certainly happy to start my eber several times today without charging.

Whilst I fitted the battery I removed the metal battery cover, which just seems to be one of vw worsed ideas. I replaced it with some plastic roofing sheet which should avoid any future problems. When it's glued to the carpet you will not see the difference.



I certainly would recommend this battery from taynar

Glad you got what you wanted. I have no idea if it is a true 100ahc either, don't really want to pull all the juice from it just to find out

There must be a way of testing it, I'll check google and post up any results.

So Puekerts Law is what to use. I won't go into specifics but it will surprise you.

I have a 100ah Elecsol leisure battery in the compartment under the seat. Then just outside the compartment(doesn't sacrifice much floor space). I have 2 x Trojans golf buggy battery's. If you wild camping just the ticket. Since I have installed these I have never paid for hook up once & I went to Scotland & Wales for a month without mains!

Pretty sure some of these very high end digital battery testers can show things like capacity etc I remember our local battery shop was able to carry out a full fitness test on my 110ah leisure with such a device and gave me a printed digital readout of it's performance...took an hour to run through it's test.

My concern with these 'So Called' 100ah leisures is: how is it that the unknown brand of 'Enduraline/Powerline' (Tanya's own?) can produce a traditional battery with a capacity of 100ah in a case that is no bigger than other manufactures 70 - 80ah products. How is it that Bosch/Varta/Lucas/Excide cannot do the same....I'm afraid it just doesn't add up to me.

It seems to me, given the complexity of accurately measuring such claims, the company are pretty safe in putting 'any' label on a battery (within reason) if it means selling more of them.

Whilst I realise that with different technologies (Spiral cell for example) as with the Elecsol products, it may be possible by design to get such capacities out of smaller casings. However, the two batteries mentioned are just traditional batteries as far as I can tell.

Too good to be true but as usual I am happy to be proved wrong on this.
