In my experience insurance companies will try everything they can to get out of paying out on a policy.

You have to tell them everything to make sure that they have no room to escape.

I had a very narrow escape with an insurer who denied I'd told them of a change until I insisted they went back over thier telephone recordings.

They are a business and will try thier hardest to keep any money for themselves.

If you have a claim keep the pressure up and be firm but not rude.

i used to work as an insurance broker

a trick is to threaten them with acomplaint to the insurance ombudsman

watch every word you say you say to them on the telephone and always make notes of times and people you speak to plus get their surnames

always plan what you want to discuss with them before hand as these people are trained to find any way to reject your claim they can especially if you are claiming on your own policy

anything over 15 years old I find Peter Best spot on with.

Mine is £90 fully comp with them, a photo agrees the value and they dont ask about modifications etc. I have used them for a few years now, even insured an old transit ambulance as an ambulance, and didnt care that it was kitted out as a camper
