Hello kev. Thanks for that like i say new to it all so its all a mystery.I will get that checked out. yep you are right about assuming what i should have said is i assume he did it right but i need to know for myself so thats another job.Its not that it needs arms like arnie to drive but i really have nothing to compare it to and i did expect cos of the wheels and that stupid steering wheel i would be driving something i would need to get used to but the thing itself is ok once moving so i aint too worried but i like to know if things are right and you guys seem to know..well do know so its worth asking as much as i can i reckon.
I suppose it has been altered for a certain look and thats what drew us to it and you have to live with the trade off thats for sure .How we get on with it we will see but maybe if we think some other wheels might make a difference then i will be asking around for whats good and whats bad.Once funds allow of course.....comfort well its certainly a damn sight more comfortable than a tent but less so than our caravan so agin a trade off as i dont like camping but have done it for 30 plus years on the bikes and i aint a big fan of towing the caravan either so again a trade off.
Maybe thats the secret here accept the trade off with em???????
yeah the fuel pump tweaking ...perhaps he didnt get this right at all so thats another one on the list.
i dont mind a bit of work on it as long as it makes the van better than it is so again the more knowledge the better.
I was thinking last night how the hell am i going to get under it to drain the gearbox oil and change the engine oil ( always do that with a new bike i buy so safer than sorry eh) what with it being lowered and agin its just another problem of owning an altered vehicle that needs a solution .No big drama i reckon.
Found a stock steering wheel on ebay last night so i think i will buy that today and stick it on. Cheers fella.

yeah i like em so they will stay for now.Just been out doing that flashing coolant light and i have changed the Dalek cap for a new blue one (from a motor parts shop not vw) as the old one was a bit ginged up.It didnt quack when i blew through it though as i have read on here somewhere...Anyway i changed the tank sensor too and the light flashed constantly then so i replaced the old one and went out in up the motorway and back round the back roads about 15 /twenty miles ish and got up to 70 on the motorway ,in this wind that was fun for a new owner, but the temp seemed fine and if anything the needle went over to the left a bit although mostly it was in the middle but the light didnt come on so maybe thats done the trick.
Checked the smoke while i had the back up and revved it by hand..errr is it suppossed too be that black....definetley needs the pump setting i think.
By the way what are borbet wheels.. what are they from...
