Maybe set them were you want them, take them off, leave in bucket of salt water for a couple of weeks, drive blind, then refit, job :P

I think washering the nut so it doesn't get thread bound, might help actually, before re-tightening them.

Or for those with very slow wedgies, mirrors that flap frantically (although fruitlessly) on pull away :roll:
