Yes, check the CV bolts, either hex OR 12 spline, or a mix of both. Make sure you have the correct tool(s) with you to tighten them up. Before trying to undo (or tighten) the bolts, clean the heads out with something pointy and a blast of compressed air, will save tears later.

Keys really are a no-brainer, our vans have no fancy electronics, so spare keys are cheap and the plain metal type will fit in the coin section of your purse/wallet without you even noticing them. I've been carrying around spare keys for my Jeep and van like this for the last couple of years, normally I forget they're there.


@ 1664 & Kev: I quite agree, at least those taking the p*** know what we're referring to, most non-technical people in my experience call them fan belts, regardless of if there's a fan driven by it. At least it avoids any possible confusion with the cam/timing belt (ok, distribution belt you picky lot).

The accessory belt! The fan is electric and is a long way away from the engine..

There was a lot of talk about mideg repellents on here not long ago.

From what I read on "proper" tests the only one that REALLY works is called "Deet" and apparently it stinks. The Army use it. There is a lot of talk of Johnsons "So soft" moisturiser working (some on here use it) but the "proper" tests reckon it doesn't.
