meyle oil filters any good?

There are two seperate automotive parts companies, one is Meyle & the other is Mahle.

WBX Mann oil filter is W719/12 accept no alternatives other than VW one which is made by Mann

the golf filter looks the same but is different internally and a lot of the filter companies will supply you a golf one saying it's correct - it might not be - the wbx filter is unique to our application, ask yourself if you were an aftermarket filter company would you bother to make a filter for a unique engine in a vehicle that's been out of production for 25 years, wasn't very popular, most of them have been scrapped and a lot of the owners are clued up about them ? No you'd make the much more ubiquitous golf one and pass it off as the wbx one if anyone asks for it
