Fiamma Awning for T25

What width's do people have fitted? I see you can get these awnings in different lengths (widths?), so which is the most suitable?

2.8 for me ... bigger the better really .. 2.5 ok .. but 2.8 gives more shade ...

Thanks to 16v mini for this idea-
I made these brackets up for a caravan store awning, there is a lip that sits under the gutter and the lower section is covered in inner tube rubber. I used a stainless rivnut inserted into the upper B and C post to locate the lower bracket with stainless m8 bolts.

one thing you might find , i did ....

was then the awning is up , and the poles that support the awning (the ones that are horizontal ,and locate at the bag )
you need a "tab" / peice of metal weled to your box section so the pole has something to push against ...

will try and get photo ... but you will see what i mean

Matt- yes, on my first outing I realised this, just about to weld two 3x2" 3mm plates onto the back of the box section- as you say to push against. What a difference though to a thin nylon type sunscreen and keeps drizzle out too. Tim

Hi all,

I'm interested in one of these too. I bought a JK sun awning which is just about adequate so long as there is no wind.

A couple of questions

Is a F45 better then F35 for T25?

The posted pics show a permenant fix. I am still seeking my Kyham XC drive away awning. Can they both be used on a tin top? (obviouslynot at the same time).

If you look at the pictures of mine (Red Westie/California Dreamin) you will see that I am using two brackets on an F45Ti awning which takes the edge of the awning approximately to the line of the front door opening.
The only criticism I have of my own setup is: under extreme rain conditions (rain coming at 45 degrees to the leading edge of the canvas) some rain does get into the sliding door. Having said this, if the whether is this bad you wouldn't normally have the sliding door open anyway and Fiamma themselves advise that the awning should be wound in.
However, since the NEW F45S is an extra 10cm wider (4 inches) at 2.6 metres instead of 2.5 I'm convinced that there would be no need to go up to a 3.0 metre as the 2.6m would have it covered.
Besides that, the 3.0 metre awning looks odd when fitted to a T25...my honest opinion.

As for other Fiamma alternatives.
Caravanstor is basically a 'pull out canvas' in a zipped cover....has legs and functions much the same as the more expensive options but is more awkward to deploy, not as strong and doesn't look as good. However, in it's favour is its cheapness.
The F35...again, a pull out canvas with legs, but this time in a 'hard case' ....pull out not wind out.
F45S....the most expensive but has all the additional features.
The F35 & F45S both need the brackets linked to earlier where as the CaravanStor uses an awning rail to slide on to.

Obviously the down side of the F45S plus brackets, is cost.
Weight wise...yes pretty heavy, not sure just how much (12 - 15Kg perhaps) but it doesn't make any noticeable difference to the drive of a T25, none that I've ever noticed.
You might also take a look at Omnistor products. These are as good if not better than Fiamma, however they do tend to be even more expensive.

Hi Martin, thanks for update. The F45S weighs either 19 or 23 kg - depending on whether you buy the 260 or 300... Accept the comments about performance on a T25! I was concerned about the weight the two brackets can take. I had a look at the F35, but that is spring loaded pull out - if spring goes...big probs! I think I prefer the F45. Anyway, now to make a decision... Thanks for time. Cheers D

I like my 3m fiamma, as said by Matin if you want the door open in the rain you get more protection

Trucker's picture confirms what I said...carefully compare where the edge of the canvas ends.....directly over the B pillar on my 2.5m but a few inches further forwards on Truckers.
And....sorry Itchyfeet! the 3metre on yours? looks errrrrr strange...I think its the way it over hangs the rear gutter breaking the line of the tailgate.

FYI ......the installer does have a small amount of leeway when drilling and mounting the brackets to the box, so drill as far back (so the box is mounted as far forwards as it can be) it might only be a couple of inches but every little helps if you go with the 2.6m version.

One big advantage of the caravanstore is that it can be slid off its rail and stored away safely inside....and quickly. Wheteas f35 or 45 is v nickable om side of van. Cynical I know.

yes but i prefer function over form, if I wanted too sit and admire my van everyday I would have bought a westy like you
