So only the 'famous' governor mod left then... or have you done that as well.
Will take the Diesel forum issue up with the big
Bakahunas around here then
While you're waiting, you might not have seen this... the black Merc has no internal mods at all (allegedly) and the same guy is talking 250 BHP from a 1.6TD (that's what he says gets, 254 at the wheels apparently

)
Mercs variously from 425 to 600 BHP, depending what you can believe!
Holset turbos, Finnish folk...

No governor mod yet, i am worried about how much more a syncro gearbox will take, i am really pissed off about the clutch, not the cost or it being off the road just the fact i can't do the job myself anymore,so i don't want to break it again to soon.
The smoke out of mine is similar to them mercs when at low revs.
I bet the cylinder heads are getting warm on them mercs.

You got a back problem, from lying under that thing, have a few niggles here, maybe yours are more serious
Do Kennedy (KEP) do a suitable flywheel, or can they make you one, as their clutches go up to Stage 3 for the petrols...

Walking is a struggle, years of lifting engines and gearboxes has caught up with me.
Being looking into it further, it seems a 1Z tdi flywheel with a vr6 clutch and a new input shaft should be hold it and should still be fairly light to press. I had a stage 2 on a beetle which was very heavy and made my left leg ache, and that was when i was ok.

Andy,
D'ya mind me asking what spares or cast-offs you have e.g. turbos, manifolds, even inj pumps etc?

nothing other than a fryed flywheel, i could do with a spare turbo myself i think that will be the next failure. Off the engine bit i do have a syncro soca/doka petrol tank in my shed thats in the way and free to a good home.
May also have 5 BFG all terrain for sale in a few weeks all with good tread and even wear.

I'd be holding up my hand if it were a diesel pickup tank...
If I find a single-cab that suits me except it's petrol, I always have the option to convert it , as I have most of the other diesel conversion parts.
